Itinerary
Day 01: Delhi – Haridwar
Your sacred journey begins with an arrival at Delhi Airport, followed by a scenic drive to the holy city of Haridwar. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax. In the evening, experience the divine Ganga Aarti at the iconic Har Ki Pauri, a deeply spiritual ritual that draws pilgrims from across the country. Haridwar, nestled on the banks of the River Ganga, is one of India’s oldest and most revered pilgrimage sites and serves as the traditional starting point of the Char Dham Yatra.
Day 02: Haridwar – Barkot
After breakfast, embark on a picturesque drive to Barkot, visiting the famous Shiv Mandir and the cascading Kempty Falls en route. Check into your hotel upon arrival. Barkot, situated in the Uttarkashi district, is a peaceful hill town offering a refreshing retreat amidst the Himalayas. Its proximity to Yamunotri makes it an important stop on the pilgrimage route.
Day 03: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot
An early morning drive takes you to Janki Chatti, the base point for the trek to Yamunotri. You can ascend by foot, horse, or palki. After reaching the temple, take a holy dip in the Jamunabai Kund before receiving blessings from Yamuna Mata. Return to Barkot for an overnight stay. Yamunotri, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, is located at 3,291 meters and offers serene surroundings and divine energy.
Day 04: Barkot – Uttarkashi
Today’s journey takes you to Uttarkashi, a spiritual town located on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. Visit the ancient Kashi Vishwanath Temple upon arrival. Uttarkashi is known for its spiritual heritage and temples, and serves as a hub for pilgrims traveling to Gangotri.
Day 05: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi
Head to the sacred Gangotri Temple, the origin point of the River Ganga. En route, enjoy the scenic views of Harsil Valley and take a rejuvenating dip at Garam Kund in Gangnani. The serene temple, surrounded by pine and deodar trees, stands majestically at 3,100 meters, built by Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa.
Day 06: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi
Drive to Guptkashi, a picturesque village nestled in the Mandakini River valley. En route, enjoy the views of Moolgarh and Lambagaon. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple and explore the holy Mahikarnika Kund, where streams from the Yamuna and Ganga converge.
Day 07: Guptkashi – Kedarnath
Begin your day early and head to Sonprayag. From there, take a local shuttle to Gaurikund and begin the 19 km trek to the sacred Kedarnath Temple. Options to use a horse or palki are available. Check into your accommodation in Kedarnath and later visit the temple for evening darshan. Kedarnath, at 3,583 meters, is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a spiritually potent site dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Day 08: Kedarnath – Guptkashi
After morning darshan at Kedarnath Temple, begin your return trek to Gaurikund and drive back to Guptkashi. Check into your hotel and rest after the long and fulfilling day.
Day 09: Guptkashi – Badrinath
Travel to the revered town of Badrinath. After hotel check-in, take a dip in the sacred Tapt Kund before visiting the iconic Badrinath Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Attend the soul-soothing evening Aarti and spend the night in the spiritual atmosphere of Badrinath.
Day 10: Badrinath – Joshimath – Rudraprayag
Begin with a visit to Mana, the last village of India, exploring Bhim Pul, Vyas Gufa, and the Saraswati River. Continue to Joshimath to visit the Narsingh Devta Temple, then drive to Rudraprayag. This town, situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, is steeped in mythological significance.
Day 11: Rudraprayag – Haridwar
Return to Haridwar with stops at the revered Dhari Devi Temple, Devprayag—the meeting point of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers—and the spiritual hub of Rishikesh. Check into your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 12: Haridwar – Delhi
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and proceed to Delhi Airport for your onward journey, carrying back divine memories and spiritual blessings from your Char Dham pilgrimage.
